How to convert a Quizlet set to Anki
- Open the set page on quizlet.com in a desktop browser. Scroll until all terms under "Terms in this set" are loaded, select all (Ctrl+A / ⌘A) and copy (Ctrl+C / ⌘C). If you created the set, use Quizlet's Export and copy the text.
- Paste into the box. Check the card count against the set.
- Download the .apkg and open it in Anki.
Importing into Anki
For the .apkg file, double-click it or use File > Import in Anki desktop. On a phone or tablet, open the file with AnkiMobile / AnkiDroid.
The text file is a fallback. Use File > Import and pick the .txt file. The file starts with #separator:tab and #html:true header lines that tell recent Anki versions how to read it. If your Anki version ignores them, choose Tab as the field separator and allow HTML.
.apkg is the simpler choice: it opens directly and creates a deck of Basic front-and-back cards. The text file is a fallback if the .apkg fails, or if you want to choose the note type and deck yourself.

Frequently asked questions
I can't find the Export button on Quizlet. What now?
Export is offered only to the person who created the set, in the web version (the ••• menu on the set page). If you didn't create the set, or you're in the mobile app, you won't see it. Use the copy-and-paste method instead, which works on any set page you can view.
Why can't I just paste a link to the set?
Quizlet blocks automated requests, and this tool deliberately never contacts Quizlet or any server with your content. It only reads what you paste, in your browser.
How do I use this on an iPad?
With a keyboard attached: on the set page in Safari, press ⌘A, then ⌘C, paste here, and download. Open the .apkg with AnkiMobile from the share sheet or the Files app. Without a keyboard, selecting a whole long page by touch is awkward, so the copy step is easier on a computer. The iPad flow has not been tested by us yet.
Are images converted?
No. Only text is converted. If a set has cards with images, the tool tells you how many, and those cards are converted with their text only.
The set page won't open or doesn't show all the cards. What can I do?
Private, password-protected, or deleted sets, and sets that require logging in, can be read only by people with access. If you have access, log in to Quizlet in your own browser. Make sure the full list under "Terms in this set" is expanded and loaded before you copy. If you created the set, use Export.
Is anything I paste uploaded?
No. Parsing and file generation happen in the browser. The site has no backend receiving your content. The site counts visits with cookieless Cloudflare Web Analytics, which never sees what you paste, and has no advertising scripts.
The card count doesn't match the set. Why?
You may have selected only part of the page, or the list was not fully loaded. Duplicate cards are removed. The plain-text fallback guesses card boundaries and can mis-split a card that runs over several lines. Copy the whole page again.
